An international industry leader in force measurement technology for biomechanics, Bertec Corporation began offering multi-component load transducers in 1987 and specializes in gait analysis equipment, balance assessment and training, ergonomics, athletic performance, and industrial applications for specialized load cells / transducers. For over 25 years, researchers and clinicians at gait labs all over the world have trusted Bertec to provide accurate force measuring equipment and software, with many force plates still in active use after two and a half decades.
In the Spring of 2012 Bertec welcomed the addition of Dr. Lew Nashner to oversee development of our Balance Advantage™ systems. Dr. Nashner joined Bertec after having spent 25 years as the CEO and Chairman of Neurocom where he helped establish the clinical standard in balance rehabilitation. Prior to Neurocom, Dr. Nashner developed the original CDP system while a graduate student at MIT. Through his NASA funded graduate research and funding from the National Institutes of Health, the core balance technology was brought to market in the 1980s.
Reinvigorating the balance rehabilitation market and bringing state of the art technology to the field, Bertec’s innovative Balance Advantage™ systems provide a wide variety of options: from the Portable Essential system – perfect for home visits or mobile fall clinics – to the revolutionary Dynamic CDP system with integrated Immersive Virtual Reality that delivers all the standard dynamic posturography assessments with the addition of an expanded set of training opportunities.
