BALANCE PLATE
Balance plates are the product of Bertec's proven strain
gage technology and force plate experience. These
3-component plates measure the vertical force and the Center
of Pressure (CoP). The 16-bit digital electronics built into
the balance pates enable them to be connected directly to
the USB port of the computer via a single cable for direct
data acquisition. Upon request a digital-to-analog
conversion module can be supplied for conventional systems
with an A/D data acquisition card. High sensitivity data
acquisition allows even the individual heartbeats to be
measured while standing on the plate.
Balance plates have an adjustable foot to counteract
un-level surfaces, and convenient markers on the top surface
to allow for foot alignment. These plates are perfect for
postural control and other studies of human balance.
Normally sold with our balance assessment and training
packages, balance plates are available as a stand-alone
product. Bertec’s software Acquire comes with an individual
balance plate to aid in data collection.
